Do you have a passion for supporting homeless young people? We have a challenging role focussed on case management to support young people within the Oasis Youth Residential Service, Canberra.

The Outreach Case Worker will offer young people support in their transition to independence by providing coordinated, holistic and client directed case management services.

The successful applicant will provide case management support to homeless young people within the Outreach Program at Oasis. They will offer a holistic and client-directed service, focused on the coordination of services, targeted direct service provision and crisis intervention to young people to support their transition to independence.

Requirements of the position:

• Tertiary qualifications (Certified IV or higher) in Youth Work, Social Work, Community Education or other relevant field
• An understanding of and empathy with the Christian faith, values and ethos of The Salvation Army
• An understanding of the principles of case management - experience desirable
• Experience in working with clients in crisis support and intervention
• Ability to work with a range of behaviours, different cultures and backgrounds
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Computer literacy in a Windows environment using Microsoft Office
• Good networking skills
• Current Drivers Licence
• Willingness to consent to a Criminal History Check

This is a full time position working 38 hours per week Monday to Friday which will be offered initially as a 12 month contract, subject to ongoing funding.  We offer great benefits including generous salary packaging, training and a supportive team environment.
