An exciting opportunity currently exists to join our Salvation Army Emergency Services team in QLD as the State Coordinator. In your role as The Salvation Army Emergency Services State Coordinator - QLD, you will be required to manage, develop and train volunteers in Salvation Army Emergency Services procedures. You will provide expertise support in all aspects of Emergency Services, ensuring emergency response capability and disaster plans are communicated regularly to all relevant stakeholders. Key responsibilities of the position include: - Ensure that the highest standard of operational readiness in maintained in QLD
- Coordinate SAES volunteer accreditation training
- Recruitment and retention of volunteers
- Provide regular reports on QLD activities
To be successful in the role, you will possess: - Demonstrated effective communication skills.
- Demonstrates integrity, behaving according to ethical principles and values, engendering trust, respect and loyalty from others even in most difficult or sensitive situations, promotes and champions honest, ethical behaviour across organisation.
- Flexibility. Able to adjusting approach and thinking in order to work effectively with a variety of people in a variety of situations. Be able to change plans to minimise stress on individuals whilst achieving the organisation's objectives.
- Conflict Resolution, able to defusing and resolving conflict in a range of situations
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment.
- MR drivers licence. (or must be able to obtain in a reasonable timeframe at own cost)
- Occupational health and safety and/or risk management qualifications.
- Significant experience in emergency management or similar environment.
- Experience in the delivery of training material.
- Experience in SAES operations.
