Youth Worker / Educational Support Worker Youth Outreach Service - Lawnton Full-time, Fixed Term for 12 months Requirements: - Tertiary qualifications in community/youth services, education or similar discipline or minimum Certificate qualifications and/or extensive experience.
- A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army and an ability to offer pastoral assistance.
- Driver's license and Working with Children suitability card (Commission for Children and Young People Blue Card.
- High level of understanding of issues faced by young people and ability to engage youth 'at risk' who have complex needs.
- Self motivated and a strong work ethic.
- High level presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to facilitate activities and programs.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
- Team player, flexible with a positive attitude.
- Demonstrated experience in engaging clients (young people and their families) with social and educational environments.
- Proven experience in working with people of varying cultures, races, economic, social and educational status.
- Experience in establishing and maintaining agency network relationships within the human service/ education environment to better meet client needs is desirable.
- Desirable to have experience in a counselling/mentoring/coaching environment and experience in conducting life skills/personal development programs.
