We are seeking an experienced Buyer to work in the Purchasing team based at Broadmeadows. Reporting into the Purchasing department the primary focus of this role is to ensure Program Launch Readiness, link with suppliers to actively promote and support diversification and growth activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Vendor Relationship management.
Lead implementation of sourcing actions while also liaising with regional and global commodity teams to support strategic direction.
Manage engineering changes and manage supplier timing and delivery performance.
Support cost recovery actions including plant quality and any warranty issues.
To be considered for this position, you will have:
Experience in facilitation and leadership of teams as well as the ability to coach and mentor team members.
Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to creatively solve problems.
An in depth knowledge of purchasing systems and policies as well as quality tools and methods.
Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate to achieve outcomes.
Excellent verbal and written communications, including an ability to prepare material using clear and concise language and to organise information logically.
Strong customer focus and the ability to establish and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders.
Ability to work cooperatively, in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
