A privately owned Australian waste management / recycling business with sites across New South Wales and Queensland require a highly motivated, practical and proactive Environmental Specialist to assume a lead position in managing the environmental audit and compliance programme. This newly created position is an ideal platform to showcase your talents in both environmental auditing and compliance.

To be considered for this opportunity, it is essential that you have a strong track record in managing environmental compliance, with a thorough understanding of how to work effectively with the Environmental Protection Authority. To be a success in this position, you must enjoy working in a fast paced environment, where you will be required to interact with Directors, Site Managers and external professionals; all requiring high quality advice regarding environmental risk, management and compliance.

Candidates will ideally have experience in delivering environmental / quality audits in a blue collar / industrial or engineering context.

Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate:
• Proven experience in managing environmental audits
• Experience in developing environmental plans
• Proven ability in devising environmental response plans
• Previous experience in interacting with the EPA and delivering successful outcomes
• Full understanding of Environmental control & monitoring techniques
• High level of project management skills
• Experience in environmental management in Development Application process
• A willingness to visit sites as required with the ability to drive
