Juniper Network Engineer Contract - Immediate Start

Immediate Start - 6 months initially - Melbourne CBD

Our client is one of Australia's leading systems integrators. Based in Melbourne's CBD you will be working onsite at a leading institution supporting and improving their current network infrastructure.

You will be contracting to this organisation to provide your network expertise with an emphasis on Juniper - Junos/ScreenOS and Cisco.

The purpose of this role is to provide support to the existing Networks team with a more specific Juniper resource to cover operational  technical support of our Client's Juniper and Cisco LAN/WAN and security networks.

Technically, we're looking for a strong mix of the following essential technologies within the Juniper network role:

1. Strong  knowledge Juniper JNOS and ScreenOS (*PRIORITY*)
2. Sound knowledge of IPV4 and IPV6
3. Sound knowledge VoIP QoS over LAN/WAN
4. Strong knowledge of carrier MPLS and SIP networks
5. Strong knowledge network protocols comprising of  MPLS, QoS, SIP, BGP, OSFP, RIP, HSRP and IPSEC
6. Sound knowledge of Security technical protocols, policies and process (VPN's, ACL's, IPSEC)
7. Strong knowledge of Cisco Enterprise Core and Access Switching (6500, 4500, 3700 series)
8. Sound knowledge of Cisco Nexus

You will:
 Plan and Design and implementation of projects to improve the network infrastructure
 Troubleshoot network faults and perform technical lead role during network incidents
 Acting as an interface between the organisation and suppliers/carriers/vendors regarding high-level technical issues
 Implementing, testing and optimising Juniper Firewalls, LAN & WAN hardware, software and related services

We would also expect the successful applicant to be suitably Juniper certified, JNCIA or JNCIS at a minimum

This role involves some after hours and possibly weekend work for which you will be well compensated. Some travel is expected, possibly Interstate.
