Our client, a leading organisation in its field, is currently requiring an experienced Network Engineer for a 6 month contract to support, implement and troubleshoot data communication services with a focus on performance to customers.

Reporting to the Network Infrastructure Manager, the key responsibilities will include:
    Day to day operational support as well as rostered on-call support of Juniper and Cisco data network equipment and services
    Troubleshoot network faults and perform technical lead role during network incidents
    Plan and Design and implementation of projects to improve the network infrastructure
    Analysing network traffic data and providing recommendations on performance improvements to network infrastructures as appropriate
    Implementing, testing and optimising Juniper Firewalls, LAN & WAN hardware, software and related services

The ideal candidate will have:
    Strong knowledge of carrier MPLS and SIP networks and in depth knowledge of internetworking concepts and troubleshooting
    Sound knowledge VoIP QoS over LAN/WAN and strong knowledge network protocols comprising of MPLS, QoS, SIP, BGP, OSFP, RIP, HSRP and IPSEC
    Strong knowledge of Cisco Enterprise Core and Access Switching, Juniper JNOS and ScreenOS
    Strong communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills

Availability to be on a rostered 24x7 support basis is a requirement of this role as well as the willingness and flexibility for interstate and international travel for support or installations.  Juniper JNCIA or JNCIS certifications and experience in IT/Networking are essential.
