Our client is a reputable Australian organisation and is currently seeking an IT Asset & Configuration Manager (Hands-on) to be responsible for ensuring specialist; correct Asset & Configuration information is contained within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), based on the ITIL framework. 

You will also be responsible for providing administrative, analytical and management support for IT assets in all stages of the asset lifecycle. You will be accountable to respond rapidly and effectively to requests for Asset information, select the correct process, and ensure the accuracy of information. 

Main Responsibilities include:

• Manage the Asset Management Lifecycle to successful completion, through developing and deploying a common and standard process throughout the organisation, influencing the behaviours of IT Staff and key business stakeholders
• Manage and coordinate Install, Move, Add or Change Requests (IMAC) activities with end users and resolver groups.
• Liaise and co-ordinate the resources required to control the receipt, identification, storage and withdrawal of all supported assets within the CMDB.
• Manage and administer the Unicenter environment including software delivery, Asset Management, Service Desk and the CMDB.
• Develop and Implement Requests for Change (RFC???s) assigned to Asset Management. i.e. Change of Owner.
• Ensure the Asset and Configuration Management System is updated correctly and the relevant documentation is available to meet audit requirements
• Manage, review, approve and take ownership of the reconciliation of asset movements against IMAC.
• Develop and deliver Statistical and Management Reporting to the Service Management Office (SMO) for distribution to the various Stakeholders, including recommendations for process improvement.
• Manage the Software and Contract License repositories and their relationships to Assets and Configuration Items.
• Ensure quality assurance on CMDB records and verify accuracy of database against physical environment.
• Negotiate and manage the end to end process for adding new Configuration Items while ensuring ownership and accountability for the implementation of all deliverable outcomes.  

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree qualified in a relevant discipline or must have equivalent experience.
• Must have completed the ITIL Foundation Certification
• Minimum of 5 years experience working as an Asset & Configuration Manager (hands-on) in a similar environment managing CMDB
• Demonstrated solid experience of: Asset and Configuration Management Systems; and IT Service Support Management
• Excellent communicator with ability to deal effectively across all levels of staff including technical and management
• Demonstrated experience in: Windows/Desktop Operating systems; Networking; and Working with SQL (from user perspective)
• Well developed understanding of Incident and Problem Management
• Experience using Service Management tools is mandatory
• Excellent team player, and have the ability to work autonomously
• Strong customer service skills, and have a positive ???can-do-attitude???!
