My client is a leader in the Telecommunications field, they currently have many interesting and long term projects in the pipeline. They require a Senior Estimator, you may already come from a Telecommunications background, or you may want to make the move into the Telco field.

The Role:

Commercial Management:

• Prepare competitive estimates in compliance with the company commercial requirements - specific tasks include but are not limited to:
• Draft estimates utilising standardised resourcing/estimating model.
• Qualify and quantify commercial and operational risks.
• Initiate, prepare for and participate in tender review meetings.
• Participate in project reviews on all major projects to refine estimating practices.
• Develop competitive/alternative pricing structures

Bid Management:

• Responsible for the bid management, preparation and project management of bids between $200k and $5 mil including working with the divisional commercial manager's, project manager's and profit centre manager's in assessing bid opportunities.
• Support the commercial team to work with the business for the development and implementation of effective Tendering processes, and commercial procedures and systems.

Project Handover:

Prepare and undertake formal handover on projects tendered and won with Project Manager. This shall include but not be limited to:

• Scope of work
• Proposed project methodology
• Preferred subcontractors
• Material requirements
• Cost budgets
• Project timing/programme
• Identified risks
• Possible variations

Your background:

• More than 5 years experience in a senior estimating role encompassing civil construction and/or electrical disciplines, within a Telecommunications Service Provider and/or Infrastructure Service Provider.
• A demonstrable understanding of commercial risk/reward and competitive pricing issues.
• Excellent communication skills, in particular the ability to maintain open communication channels with internal/external customers, staff and contractors. Ability to establish and maintain mutually beneficial business relationships with both clients and contractors.
• Advanced Excel Skills (Vlookup, Pivot table, Macros - for Datamodelling)
• Available to travel interstate and internationally from time to time.
