Tourism and Industry Development Manager

The Daylesford & Macedon Ranges Regional Tourism Board (DMRRTB) is seeking an experienced Tourism and Industry Development Manager to work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to strengthen the competitiveness and sustainability of this iconic tourism region. You will use your superior sales, business development, communications, negotiation and stakeholder engagement expertise to:

  • engage with tourism operators in the Daylesford & Macedon Ranges (DMR) tourism region to garner their financial support for DMRRTB and Tourism Victoria marketing and business development opportunities.
  • build solid working relationships with regional partners, with emphasis on Local Government and tourism operators.
  • investigate and source additional funding and grants aimed at increasing DMRRTB's budgetary position and effectiveness.
  • assist with the development of annual and long-term regional tourism planning including an Annual Industry Engagement Plan.
  • support the CEO as needed.

To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate how your experience in business development, business management or marketing can add value to DMRRTB. Specifically:

  • You will be an energetic and exceptional communicator used to juggling multiple projects and deadlines. As a self-starter, you will have the ability to work under pressure and to short lead times without the luxury of a large support team.
  • You will have demonstrated sales experience and meeting agreed sales targets.
  • As you will have excellent experience in building and maintaining exceptional relationships.

While not mandatory, a good understanding of the tourism industry would be advantageous. You will ideally reside in the Daylesford & Macedon Ranges region. The region is located within easy access to Melbourne and has excellent services, schools and community facilities.

This is a two year, fixed-term position with an option to extend. The position is paying up to $65,000 p/a, plus super, for a full-time role, or pro rata for a part-time role. Part-time applicants may be considered provided that you can commit to a minimum 30 hours per week and deliver your assigned responsibilities. A car allowance and performance bonus is applicable to the successful candidate, whether working in a full or part-time capacity.

Our goal is to lead the growth and development of tourism across the greater region by fostering a united, engaged and successful industry. We achieve this through advocacy, marketing, promotions, lobbying and the attraction of regional investment and infrastructure. We work closely with Tourism Victoria, Regional and Local Tourism Associations and all Councils.
